Steven Morgan is a professional bassoonist based in western Washington. He plays principal bassoon with the North Corner Chamber Orchestra, Everett Philharmonic Orchestra, and Federal Way Symphony. Steven is also a member of the Seattle Modern Orchestra, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and Lake Washington Symphony. As an active freelancer he’s performed with almost every professional ensemble in the Puget Sound, including the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Symphony Tacoma, and Northwest Sinfonietta. As a soloist Steven has performed concertos by W.A. Mozart, Antonio Vivaldi and Carl Maria von Weber.

Steven maintains a private teaching studio in the Meadowdale neighborhood located between Lynnwood, Edmonds and Mukilteo. He’s also a bassoon coach for the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra. Before moving to Washington in 2001 Steven taught bassoon and a class in double-reed pedagogy at California State University, Long Beach.

Steven earned a Master of Music degree in performance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Bachelor of Music degree in performance from the University of Redlands. He also studied in Salzburg, Austria, at the Mozarteum for six months during his study-abroad semester.
